Tryptose Sulfite Cycloserine Agar Base is a culture medium used with or without supplements for the examination of food, environmental samples ans water. selective detection of the vegetative and spore forms of Clostridium perfringens, in foodstuffs and environmental samples.
The complete medium TSC agar (supplemented with cycloserine) complies with the recommendations of ISO 7937, ISO 14189 and APHA for the presumptive identification of Clostridium perfringens.
Tryptose Sulfite Cycloserine Agar Base used without supplements is known as Iron Sulfite Agar, and is recommended by ISO 15213 for the enumeration of sulfite-reducing bacteria growing under anaerobic conditions.
