Medium used for the differentiation of gram-negative enteric bacilli, particularly those belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family. Formulated to detect the production of arginine dihydrolase, an enzyme that enables specific bacteria to metabolize arginine into putrescine, thereby shifting the pH of the medium.
