Buffered Peptone Water (BPW) VEG is a liquid medium recommended as a pre-enrichment medium by the following ISO standards: ISO 6579-1 and ISO 19250 for detection of Salmonella spp. in food and water, respectively, and ISO 22964 for Cronobacter spp.
According to ISO 21528-1, BPW is used for detection or enumeration of Enterobacteriaceae within foodstuffs. Used as diluent, BPW complies to ISO 6887 and 11290-2 for the enumeration of organisms.
Buffered Peptone Water VEG is free of any ingredient of animal origin. That eliminates regulatory issues and
concerns related to use of animal-derived products.
