Product and use case

Liofilchem SCHAEDLER Agar Base Culture Media 610043 is a Liofilchem microbiology product supplied by Kormay Biomedicals. Its practical role is sCHAEDLER AGAR BASE is a nonselective medium used for fastidious aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, such as lactobacilli, streptococci, clostridia and Bacteroides. The medium is highly nutritious due to its content of peptones, glucose and yeast extract. Hemin supplies the X factor required by many fastidious microorganisms. Blood and other enrichments are added to further enhance growth capabilities.

This product belongs in fungal or yeast workflows where recovery, differentiation, or susceptibility testing depends on controlled media, incubation, and disciplined result reading.

When this format is useful

This product is most useful when spoilage organisms or yeasts need controlled recovery and readable morphology. The lab should define incubation conditions, what counts as typical growth, and how suspect isolates are confirmed before the result is used for shelf-life or investigation decisions.

What to read after incubation

free-flowing, homogeneous. Color: light tan. Prepared medium

Sample handling workflow

  • Procedure: The sample suspension is diluted as necessary in order to obtain separeted and countable colonies. A calibrated loopful is then spread onto the surface of a Schaedler Agar plate. Conditions of incubation will vary according to the type of organisms under test.
