Bacitracin Test are paper discs impregnated with bacitracin, a polypeptide antibiotic, and used in a diagnostic workflow for identification of Lancefield group A streptococci based on susceptibility to that antimicrobial agent. KIT CONTENT • 2 cartridges of 50 discs. Cartridges are individually packed in a foil-sealed blister pack with a desiccant. METHOD PRINCIPLE A paper disc impregnated with bacitracin is applied directly to an inoculated agar plate before incubation. Streptococcus pyogenes or group A Streptococcus (GAS), which are sensitive to bacitracin, produce a zone of inhibition.
