BRUCELLA BROTH is a medium rich in nutrients and growth factors, very suitable for the cultivation of Brucella and other fastidious microorganisms like Campylobacter, Streptococcus, Neisseria etc.. Principle. Meat peptone and tryptone provide nitrogen, vitamins, minerals and amino acids essential for microbial growth. Yeast extract is a source of vitamins, particularly of the B-group. Sodium chloride supplies essential electrolytes and keeps the osmotic balance of the medium. Dextrose is the fermentable carbohydrate.
