Applications
Campylobacter CCDA Agar is used for the selective isolation and colony counting of Campylobacter spp. from food, water, and environmental samples. Also known as Modified Charcoal Cefoperazone Deoxycholate Agar (mCCD agar), it complies with ISO 10272 and ISO 17995 for the microbial examination of food and water, respectively.
Quality Control
- Inoculum for productivity: 50–100 CFU; inoculum for selectivity: 10⁴–10⁶ CFU
- Incubation: 40–48 hours at 41.5 ± 1°C, in a microaerobic atmosphere
- Campylobacter jejuni (WDCM 00156): good growth
- Escherichia coli (WDCM 00013): partially or totally inhibited
- Staphylococcus aureus (WDCM 00034): inhibited
Storage & Shelf Life
Store at 2–8°C away from light, until the expiry date on the label or until signs of deterioration or contamination are evident.
